POSITION:                   Mammography Technologist

HOURS:                       Full time

SUMMARY:                 Performs Mammography procedures

POSITION: Sterile Processing Tech ORA

DEPARTMENT: Surgery

HOURS: Full-Time

JOB SUMMARY:

The central sterile processing technician coordinates and collaborates the overall cleaning, decontamination, assembly and dispensing of surgical instruments, equipment and supplies needed for daily surgical procedures in surgery and related departments.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for control of all parts of the sterilization process: § decontamination; § prep, pack, sterilize; § documentation of sterilization; and § sterile storage including remediation of equipment failures and hazards.
  • Provide integrity and sterility of products and services for the customers.
  • Work in conjunction with the OR staff to provide timely sterile products.
  • Maintain consistency and continuous workflow between the OR and Central Service Sterile Processing while practicing excellent customer service.
  • Operate and maintain steris reliance machine; keep records of loads completed, items of loads and maintenance procedures performed
  • Operate and maintain decontamination equipment
  • Decontaminate, reprocess and maintain flexible endoscopes
  • Monitor surgery schedules daily, identifying general, specific and potential needs for all cases.
  • Assist with cleaning of rooms between cases and terminal cleaning
  • Operate and maintain steam autoclaves, keeping records of loads completed, items in loads, and maintenance procedures performed.
  • Monitor and maintain appropriate records to remain compliant with applicable regulatory agencies, as well as reporting occurrences immediately to supervisors.
  • Maintain strong working/collaborative relationships with other departments to ensure flow and continuity of services.
  • Attend in-service presentations, including but not limited to infection control, patient safety, quality improvement, MSDS and OSHA standards.
  • Report defective equipment to supervisor or staff. Non-Essential Functions

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – General Surgery / Surgical Services

Location: Dayton, Tennessee

Position Summary

Rhea Medical Center Physician Group is seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support our General Surgery services in Dayton, Tennessee. This hybrid role provides both clinic-based patient care and in office procedure support. The LPN will assist with pre-operative and post-operative patient care, clinical procedures, surgical coordination, wound management, and patient education while ensuring exceptional patient care and efficient clinical operations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Room and assess surgical patients, including vital signs, medication reconciliation, medical history, and chief complaints.
  • Assist providers with office-based procedures and examinations.
  • Provide wound care, dressing changes, staple/suture removal, drain care, and incision assessments per provider orders.
  • Educate patients on pre-operative and post-operative instructions, medications, wound care, and activity restrictions.
  • Coordinate surgical scheduling with hospitals, surgery centers, specialists, and ancillary departments.
  • Obtain and review pre-operative testing, imaging, labs, and medical clearances.
  • Assist with referrals, prior authorizations, and surgical precertification.
  • Document patient care accurately within the EMR and maintain HIPAA compliance.
  • Maintain infection control, sterilization, and OSHA standards.
  • Collaborate with physicians and staff to maintain efficient patient flow and high patient satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Current LPN license in Tennessee.
  • Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of surgery/general surgery experience required or strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of sterile technique, surgical terminology, wound care, and post-operative management.

sit; lift, and carry equipment.  Includes the ability to manipulate 21-50 lbs 20-30 times per shift;

shift duty.  Physical demands include the ability to visualize color gradient in waived tests.

 

Must be able to hear to complete manual blood pressure and have the ability to distinguish

 

abnormal odors.  Also required is the ability to hear and comprehend patient request including

 

rapid response to emergency signals and emergency situations such as patients falls and

 

cardiopulmonary arrest.  Requires manual dexterity to write, grasp, push/pull, perform fine

 

manipulation skills, speak English, and ability to use foot, and/or hand operated equipment.

 

Working Conditions: Work is performed in an outpatient care setting. Conditions range from

 

moderate to high degree of disagreeable features.   

 

Exposure to odors, materials, chemicals and infectious products are encountered daily.
