POSITION: Ultrasound Technologist / Vascular Tech

SUMMARY: Performs diagnostic and vascular ultrasound procedures
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate of accredited program.
- Certification completion in Ultrasound; Echo Vascular highly desired.

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – General Surgery / Surgical Services
Location: Dayton, Tennessee
Position Summary
Rhea Medical Center Physician Group is seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support our General Surgery services in Dayton, Tennessee. This role provides both clinic-based patient care and administrative support for a busy general surgeon. The LPN will assist with pre-operative and post-operative patient care, clinical procedures, surgical coordination, wound management, patient education, and physician support. Responsibilities include placing and managing physician-directed orders within the electronic medical record (EMR), coordinating surgical care, and performing essential office duties to ensure efficient practice operations and exceptional patient care.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Room and assess surgical patients, including vital signs, medication reconciliation, medical history, and chief complaints.
- Assist the surgeon with office-based procedures and examinations.
- Enter and manage physician-directed orders in the EMR, including laboratory, imaging, medication, referral, and surgery-related orders in accordance with provider instructions and organizational policies.
- Coordinate surgical scheduling with hospitals, surgery centers, specialists, and ancillary departments.
- Obtain and review pre-operative testing, imaging, laboratory results, and medical clearances.
- Provide wound care, dressing changes, staple/suture removal, drain care, and incision assessments per provider orders.
- Educate patients on pre-operative and post-operative instructions, medications, wound care, and activity restrictions.
- Assist with referrals, prior authorizations, surgical precertifications, and insurance-related documentation.
- Perform general office and administrative duties, including managing patient messages, coordinating follow-up appointments, handling clinical correspondence, and supporting daily physician practice operations.
· Document patient care accurately within the EMR and maintain HIPAA compliance.
· Maintain infection control, sterilization, and OSHA standards.
· Collaborate with physicians and staff to maintain efficient patient flow and high patient satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Current LPN license in Tennessee.
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program.
- Minimum of 2+ years of surgery/general surgery experience strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of sterile technique, surgical terminology, wound care, and post-operative management.
- Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Experience with EMR systems and clinical documentation.
- BLS certification required.

JOB SUMMARY: The primary duty for this position is to follow-up with insurance companies on payment of claims. Contact all parties necessary to resolve outstanding insurance payments.
Work all incoming insurance correspondence, insurance rejections, and incoming calls. Review the remittance advices for denials and correct payment contacting the companies when necessary. Assist with scheduling on an as-needed basis.
